"If this book is typical of Hemingway's writing, I do not understand how he ever became so popular. Boring at best." by george a shira jr
"Not well written at all! Hemmingway's worst novel. Redundant, boring narrative throughout. Really did not enjoy it at all. The voice was not interesting or well done." by CindyMAR
"This book is a hot mess in terms of writing, plot (there is none), content and characters who are a bunch of drunks who like bullfighting and consuming alcohol." by beverly w.
"The master of literature, Ernest Hemingway. There is nothing masterful about this boring little story. Dinner and drinks and more drinks then more dinner. Nothing happens and nothing is going to happen in this party-boy tale. The only interesting thing about this book is how the title was conceived. It seems it was taken from a passage in the bible. I am no longer convinced Hemingway was a great writer." by A reader of many books
"If I had a "Whaa??" shelf, this would be the first book on it. This "masterpiece" is about some WWI vets who drink a lot, ride a train, and see a bullfight. The end. I like opaque books, but I could find more symbolism on a Chinese food menu than in this book." by Kaitlin Kelly
